Shaken Not Stirred - The Reward

"Shaken Not Stirred" 12"x12"
I don't know why this name fit the piece below , but it does. Maybe it's the way the colors flowed together. Maybe is that the piece spoke of sophistication and elegance. Maybe I was just so proud of the way that this experiment turned out that I wanted a totally OMG top notch name. Whatever. The bottom line is that "Shaken Not Stirred" is an experiment that worked out.
You don't honestly think that all experiments I do work out, do you? You're kidding, right? It is inherent in the nature of experiments that they don't all work out. After all, didn't Thomas Edison have 5,000 failures before he invented the light bulb?
I usually experiment small, like this 12"x12" piece. I do that because resin is SO very EXPENSIVE. $100/gallon. Plus ink. Plus the wood panels. Yep, this biz ain't cheap. Experimenting small is only common sense. But oh, when the experiment works out - the rewards!!! No, no, not monetary rewards. Those are ok. Money is important but is most certainly NOT the reason I get out of bed in the morning and create art. Money is not my motivator. It's essential but there are lots of jobs that involve "filthy lucre".
No, the reward that gets me out of bed is the creation of something beautiful, something that has never existed before on Planet Earth. Now that's a reward that never grows old.
