Normalcy is NOT overrated!

I finally found an advantage to getting older – early access to vaccine shots.  Yep, Hubby and I have gotten our two shots and now we are (almost) set.  Soon we’ll be able to go to art openings with impunity, have vaccinated friends over and somewhat, tentatively and carefully, resume some of our pre-covid life, some of our “normalcy”.  I think we all can agree that normalcy is NOT overrated!

Meanwhile, back at the studio, my Artistas group (my abstract artist friends with whom I show - Lydia Riegle, Janet Rundquist and Cyncie Winter) was invited to show at the Lakewood Cultural Center, 470 S Allison Pkwy, Civic Center North Building, Lakewood, CO 80226.  This show will start May 24 and run though August.  In case you haven’t been there, the Lakewood Cultural Center is a beautiful space.  I’m honored to show there.   The theme is “Turning Toward the Light” from a poem by Amanda Gorman:

“For there is always light, if only we’re brave enough to see it. If only we’re brave enough to be it.

Speaking of honored, another of my pieces, Cri de Coeur (below), was selected out of 1000 entries for the upcoming Arvada Center show Viral Influence: Art in the Time of Coronavirus.  This show will run May 20 through August 22.  The Arvada Center is located at 6901 Wadsworth Blvd, Arvada, CO 80003.
