I've been asked how I moved, changed, transitioned from practicing lawyer to artist. Here's the story. I'm also sending this out in my newsletter so if you'd like to sign up, ....
I retired from the practice of law the first time over 20 years ago. My ex and I had a successful law practice in Phoenix but he became ill and we retired to our cabin in Ouray County, Colorado for his health. He recovered. The marriage did not.
During the divorce in Ouray, I practiced law a bit, among other things helping some folks with health insurance issues. If there is something more satisfying than beating up on an insurance company who is wrongfully denying critical coverage to its insured, I’m not quite sure what it would be. This is especially true when you win, as I did in that case. The lure of practicing law was back.
I also became the part-time Development Director for a non-profit that I had helped found.
Once my kids were gone, however, I realized that bitsy little Ouray County (two 800 person towns) just wasn’t “it” for me. It was time for a change. Denver, a city I’ve always loved, called to me. I answered.
